Mission Statement

Fort Collins Girl Scout Day Camp seeks to provide girls ages 5 to 18 both outdoor recreational experiences, and leadership development opportunities, as well as to support them in building meaningful relationships with peers and adults. FCGSDC works in partnership with both family volunteers and community organizations to develop girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.

Our girls, along with camp volunteers, get to spend a week away from electronics and the noisy modern world while they fish, hike, and canoe, along with other camp activities in small unit settings of 10-12 campers.  They also get to explore the pond edges in search of frogs, turtles, birds and host of wiggly invertebrates that make up this amazing site.

The girls learn a sense of self-reliance that only comes from playing outdoors and go home with a wealth of stories to share with their parents.   Whether the parents were able to volunteer at camp or not, these exchanges build important connections between the girls and their families that can last a life time.

It is not uncommon for a girl to come to camp the first year by herself and then have her family members volunteer the next year based on their daughter’s experience.  These shared activities can help strengthen family bonds and help support the girl to become a positive influence in her community by allowing her to develop accountability, integrity, mutual respect and self-confidence.

Partnerships

Fort Collins Girl Scout Day Camp is excited to be part of the Girl Scouts of Colorado partnership with Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW)!  In 2021, we are utilizing their Boyd Lake State Park facility in Loveland Colorado.
