Girl Scout Day Camp
P.A.s (Program Aides)
PAs this year will be limited due to only one week of camp and COVID restrictions.
P.A.s (Program Aides)
Girls Entering 7th-12th grades in THE FALL (not at registration time) who have completed their LIA, GSCO certified PA training and PA Internship hours.
PAI (Program Aide Interns)
Girls Entering 7th-12th grades in THE FALL (not at registration time) who have completed their LIA, GSCO certified PA Training but still need their internship hours. Those hours are earned at day camp.
*Why do you want to be a PA this year?
*Give an example of how you react when things are not going your way and apply that to camp.
*List your top 3 strengths and explain how they would apply to Day Camp.
What would camp be without our beloved PAs ?
Quiet, very quiet.
In addition to the singing, however, our day camp is a great opportunity to build leadership and organizational skills.
You might be hoofing it back to HQ to get ice for the Mini Camp in the morning, leading the scavenger hunt at lunch, helping the Archery Instructors run a safe session in the afternoon and singing your heart out in between! There are all sorts of ways to be a leader. Come hone your leadership skills and discover new ones with friends!
All PAs (new or returning), you are REQUIRED to attend our Fort Collins specific MANDATORY TRAINING sessions. This is required REGARDLESS of official Girl Scout PA training already received or previous camp PA experience. As of Jan 2019, these training sessions do not meet GSCO certified PA training requirements.
For a new PAI, meaning first time as a PA at Fort Collins Day Camp:
GSCO (Girl Scouts of Colorado) has two training requirements
These training sessions will prepare each girl for the fun and challenging days ahead! We strive to give our PAs a solid camp experience helping out with younger girls in each unit and running the majority of our activities.
For those earning a GSCO official PA status, time at day camp as a PA qualifies as a PA nternship!
PA (Program Aide) and PAI (Program Aide Interns)
Spots available: Depends. Typically 10-15 PA girls per week of camp. However, we will accept as many that we have enough leaders for. So consider being an adult volunteer with this group.
Ages: Girls entering 7th -12th grades for the fall school year
Costs - $50
Day Camp Sessions are Monday thru Friday from 9 am - 3 pm
PA arrive typically 8:30 am and leave 3:30 pm daily.
Starting February 1, go to the Registration Page (see top menu) to apply online. See more details there.
Be sure to get a signed log of your hours at end of camp!!
