Returning for 2023!
=
We are EXCITED to be back at Boyd State Lake Park in 2023, thanks to a partnership with Girl Scouts of Colorado and the Colorado Parks and Wildlife.
Yes it's in Loveland, but it's the northeast side. Here's some maps showing various routes to Boyd Lake. See the route examples on the left. Our testing shows about 5-10 minutes difference from old location to get to the site entrance.
Whether coming from northwest, southwest or southeast Fort Collins, Boyd Lake is about 15-20 minute drive.
From Wellington it's 20-25 minutes. That's not much more than previous location.
Traffic/Access.
Thanks to the upgrades to Boyd Lake Road over the last few years, we expect similar traffic flow in and out of the property. We'll be monitoring normal business day traffic in May and early June to help us learn the best flow.
After entering the park, it's 1.5 miles to the day camp area. Park activity Monday-Friday during our drop-off/pick-up times is low so we'll probably be the only ones driving around. Our pavilion area has a circular parking lot which is perfect for drop off and looping right back out.
State Park Pass NOT Required.
Although this is a Colorado State Park, attendees to day camp are NOT required to purchase a daily or annual pass to access day camp. Attendee will receive a special pass for their vehicle dashboard for quick entry each morning. Note, vehicles will be required to have State Park passes if at Boyd Lake after day camp hours.
Have several routes in mind.
As this is new to all of us, we suggest picking various routes to/from day camp and test them before camp - and be ready to adjust during camp.
